Guide to Makeup Brushes PART 1

Hi everyone,
Ever since I realized that I had a huge interest in makeup, one thing that always had been the most important part of my makeup stash were my makeup brushes. There was also a time when I didn't have even one and used to apply everything with fingers! Now when I look back, I am astonished as to how did I survive. Brushes are an essential part of makeup. They help you achieve flawless base to beautiful eyes to perfect lips! Be it sunkissed look or vampy look or soft daytime makeup..or you need to do your eyes, lips, cheek or the rest of the face, you need brushes!

In this post, I would like to talk about the kind of brushes that we need as starters. Now, we all know that makeup industry is huge. Ranging from drugstore to high-end, nearly all brands make brushes. I personally have a lot of brands..but for brushes, I trust only few.

Makeup brushes come in all different shapes and sizes according to the area of face targeted. Some are made of natural bristles, some of synthetic. Without further delay, let me show you some of my favourites.

The Body Shop Argan Oil Body Butter : Review and Swatches

Hi everyone,
I usually keep checking The Body Shop store for frequent sales and offers. When I went there a couple of days back, I saw the Wild Argan Oil range products with an introductory offer of 'buy any two and get 20% off'. I immediately picked up the body butter and the soap.
Both the products cost me INR 1150 after discount.

After I came back home, I realized I did not even try the body butter before buying and dreaded what if it was not good or worth the price? I mean, I had not even checked the fragrance!!
I had seen the range on The Body Shop - USA website and was eagerly waiting for it to launch in India. So I opened the tub to see what it was like and on testing...totally loved it. Read the details below.

Rani Mukherjee inspired brown eyeshadow + nude lips look

Hi everyone,
I have always been quite intrigued by celebrity makeup...I mean what products might have been used (though I know they are all high-end!), how the foundation is used to achieve a flawless finish, what eyeshadows are used, what shades of lipstick is used....Everything!
I was going through all this when I came across a picture of Rani Mukherjee. Now, nearly every beauty blog has atleast one of her makeup tutorial/look. The photograph I saw had her typical brown smokey eyes and nude lips. She looked quite pretty so I decided to achieve similar makeup.

Neutral eyes + Dark lips ~ LOTD

Hi everyone,

Is gothic look is back these days...everyone around me is wearing dark lips.
I know its Fall inspired...but seriously, Is it back?
Well, I don't really know but I do love dark lips for sure!
So, while I was getting ready to go to a party the other day, I decided to give it a try and went for gold eyes and dark lips.

It turned out pretty good and my makeup did not look over-done.

Though, I do not own any deep shade lipstick, I decided to mix shades. I cleared out my makeup stash and searched what all can I mix and came across a colorbar lipstick which I had not worn for over a year. See, this is what happens when you impulsively buy things without using your head!
Anyway, since it was a totally different color from what I had planned on wearing, I wore it over MAC ruby woo.
